If there's no check engine light then it's just junky gas. You need higher quality like Sunoco or use Lucas injector cleaner. There's also a chance that the air filter is extremely dirty.

Yep, that's your only options. It definitely couldn't be your fuel filter, fuel pump, MAF(mass air flow) sensor, uncentered distributor cap, bad fuel injectors, clogged fuel injector screens, spark plug wires, spark plugs, fuel pressure regulator, or a couple other various problems...

... if your ignorant of something, you probably should not give someone else advise concerning it. Check engine lights are not always accurate, and are not always a reliable source of analysis, especially on a '99. Sorry to be a little brash, but that was just a "junky" answer.

My take: I just had this same exact problem. My issue ended up being the Idle Air Control Valve. It wouldn't want to start back up - especially when warm. I was getting bad O2 sensor CEL codes, as well. Turns out whoever replaced the IAC valve last neglected to install the gasket with it. I bought a new IAC valve for $50 with gasket, & replaced it. It was super simple - right on top, & only two bolts.
