Neither 1, It is a common problem with that engine for the intake gasket to leak engine coolant into the engine lifter gallery / into engine oil. Replace intake manifold gasket and change oil and FILTER a couple of times.
A head gasket or cracked head will not allow engine coolant to get into the oil.
If you got or over HEATED the engine like real hot then you may have blown are cracked a head but I doute it. Not common, Replace intake gasket and you'll see that the engine will be okay more then likely.
1) Your engine is overheating and the coolant is boiling. Or 2) Exhaust is leaking into the coolant, probably through a bad head gasket or cracked head.
It is possible that the gasket could leak between cylinders. The overheating and coolant loss would happen if the gasket was failing around the coolant passages.
have the head gasket replaced
Could be head gasket, head, or cracked block
Engine will possibly overheat, coolant will mix with the oil, and eventually destroy the engine. You must replace a cracked head gasket.
1997 Mazda 626well, the most likely cause of it all is a cracked block. The overheating is from the coolant seeping either outside, or into the oil, whereas you won't have the capability to cool as efficiently. Cracked block= New engine
A bad head gasket or a cracked head(s).
A bad head gasket or a cracked head(s).
A bad head gasket certainly can, as coolant will continually leak out, eventually causing overheating, yes.
Bad head gasket Cracked head Cracked block
Blown head gasket, cracked hed or cracked block
because the block is cracked or a head is cracked. or if you are lucky it could be just a head gasket. Has it overheated?
