2002 dodge grand caravan passenger rear side door lock won't unlock?

I had the same problem couldn't unlock even using a pliers. simple repair open door panel follow locking rod to electric motor and remove it open it up and remove the shaft and gear notice the spring ends are bent up simply bend them back down so they catch the stop 1 on each side. reassemble. if yours is making a funny noise when locking and unlocking then the gear has stripped and you need to buy a new motor from dealer bring old one with you to show them the new motor was redisigned and appears different. did mine over three months ago and it works fine. good luck
