I have a broken plastic gear in my seat motor also.. seems silly to buy an entire motor for 170 dollars when a ten cent gear is all i need. where do you get these things..??
Have just stripped my 1991 Jeep Cherokee seat motor assembly, because it has the same problem.
There are 3 motors connected by flexible drive shafts into a sealed gearbox. In order to open the gear box you need to drill out all the rivets holding it together. The middle motor drives the forward/back rack assembly. The other two do the front and rear lift levers.
In my gear box, the middle motor drives some worm and gear links to toothed racks on each side of the frame. The worm gears are metal and the connecting drive gears are plastic.
The plastic drive gear linked to the motor worm gear has lost a number of teeth. I doubt if anyone will supply a replacement gear.
I am investigating the possibility of having one made by a local engineering company.
If anyone knows of a ready made gear supplier please post their name and phone number.
Yes, it can.
It has a 195 thermostat and the electric fan comes on between 215 and 220.
i have a 1992 Cherokee limited on it its under the lower pannel to the right of the streeing wheel
There wasn't a 2003 Cherokee. The last Cherokee was 2000.
bad switch, bad motor, bad ground?
There is no such thing as a 2004 Cherokee....if you mean GRAND CHEROKEE then I don't know
If both are the same year (yes)
No.
if they are the same engine then yes.
where is the ac drain on 1999 jeep grand cherokee limited
190
No, too many were produced and it is not a limited production vehicle like the 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.9 or the SRT.
