Chances are the "blue wire" belongs to the cluster of wires on the back of the ignition switch, it can only be reached through the radio cubby. If any of those wires are disturbed it sets off the "pass lock" and your car will never start again, seriously! Those cars are MF ers! So, take out your radio and take a look...but, if you do get your car running again snip the yellow wire on the top (cluster of three) , while the car is running! This will save you alot of trouble in the future! It is the "anti-theft system keeping your car from starting, cutting that lil yellow wire is all you need to do, but the car must be running when you snip it. The computer will think it's a malfunction instead of theft and your car will turn on and off like normal. There will be a dash light that comes on...a small price to pay to end the frustration of not being able to start your car....In the future i suggest you avoid Malibu 97-04, Gran Am 99-04 andAleros 99-04 as they all have the same part the "pass lock" and it was built to give you hell and get them money. Go to cac@chevy .com to complain. If enough of us do it then the public will eventually become wise and avoid those models. Only the dealership can fix em.
