Chickens feet unlike smaller birds are very bad for the ground. They will dig, scratch, peck and pull anything that is edible. My own two chickens which i onli got last week have almost eaten all the grass. We had the grass at fifteen to twenty centimetres before they came and now it is almost gone, and the run was 3metres in length and 2 metres in width. The only thing you can really do is to keep them occupied. A great way to do this is by hanging an apple, lettuce or c.d's from the top of the run this will keep them occupied for a while but after that you will have to find more things to occupy them. Only place one object in at one time because it lasts longer :)) And if you are only a first time chicken owner i would do my research there are harder to take care of than you think. Luckily I had my research done and was ready for what lay ahead of me :))
When they are flushed they can fly about 20 feet off the ground and for about 50 to 60 yards. They seldom fly which is why they don't fly far, they do most of their travelling on the ground. Do chickens fly much? Quail are basically small chickens, so think of it that way. :)
No. Chickens have very small brains in their heads.
no
Chickens can fly, some better than others, but as far as I know none of them very well. My chickens will try to fly and maybe get 50 feet or so before they are back on the ground. If I recall correctly, the world record for a sustained chicken flight is only 300 to 400 feet.
IDK
Their feet follow the function that they are put to.
there are 80 goats and 20 chickens.
From the ground they suck the water with their beaks.
manlopes are chickens feet
12 chickens 4 rabbits
apart from the nails on the feet, it all gets ground down and added to chicken stock you can buy in the shops for gravy etc. i know this because i have worked in the bird industry for over 20 years.
