What would you like to do?
lady bugs are good luck because if they land on you and your sick and it flies away it takes the sickness with it and if you find a lady bug in your house count how many spots it has and that's how many dollars you will receive. if a ladybug has more than seven spots then there will be a famine and if it has less than seven then there will be a good harvest. at one time doctors would wash up ladybugs and put them in a cavity to cure how many children you have.

In Europe, during the Middle Ages, insects were destroying the crops, so the Catholic farmers prayed to the Virgin Mary for help. Soon the Ladybugs came, ate the plant-destroy…ing pests and saved the crops! The farmers began calling the ladybugs "The Beetles of Our Lady", and they eventually became known as "Lady Beetles"! The red wings represented the Virgin's cloak and the black spots represented her joys and sorrows. They didn't differentiate between males and females.
because it looks like a lady when she is flustered It's original scientific name is Coccinellidae, derived from the Latin coccineus, which means scarlet. The name lady bug or…iginated in Great Britain as "lady bird", where it became known as "Our Lady's Bird". This was because Mary (Our Lady), the Queen, in early paintings had often been shown wearing a red cloak, and the spots on the common seven spot lady bug were supposed to be symbols of her seven joys and seven sorrows. In the US, the name was adapted to lady bug because, well, it's a bug, not a bird.
Since lady bugs eat aphids, which are a destructive species that harms rose bushes among other valuable plants, lady bugs are generally thought to be good luck. But beware… of orange ones, because they tend to bite and that hurts! Red and yellow are nice though. :)
Arrivederci/addio e Buona fortuna ragazza/signorina. Giovane donna, the literal translation of young lady is also correct but it sounds stilted here. Addio is a more definiti…ve salutation, like farewell in English. Dio is God, a means to, so it literally means 'to god'. Arrivederci is like goodbye and is more formal than ciao. A-(r)ri-vederci=to-again-to see-(to) us. Signorina is more formal than ragazza (girl). Signorina means piccola signora (little lady), -ina makes a diminutive and corresponds to young. Fortuna means luck, you have this word in English too, but you use only to mean destiny, fate: fortune. Fortunate is fortunato in Italian.
