Can you have rats as pets?

Rats make GREAT pets. I have only one female and its the best pet I've ever had and I've had many pets. they are sweet, cute, great with kids, hardly ever bite and all around wonderful pets. i know the tails creep some people out but ususualy unless you are the owner you probably won't ever have to see it. mine is super clean, goes to the bathroom in only one side of the cage and is super trainable. I've already taugt it spin, sit, lay, and give kisses. Rats are also really affordable. i only paid 90.00 for everything including the rat itself. If i could recomend one pet in the whole world it would be a rat.

Rats are really loving and are great pets! They will clime all over you and lay on your lap to watch tv. They are really fun and adventures so I think the rats are really great pets! Also they are like lil dogs, so if your parents won't let you get a dog get a rat! But get 2 and you can take them on walks!

Of course. Rats make great pets, anyhow. My Biology teacher has a pet rat, and he is very docile and kind. He will sit on your shoulder, in your arms, and lap, and loves his head scratched. Although all mice probably isn't like that, it is possible to make a rat do those things by letting it get used to being held and touched by a human, and most mice and rats love their heads and chins being scratched anyhow.

Yes it can show that not all pets have to be fluffy. It can also make them not afraid of not so much liked animals and show they can be lovely aswell.

Rats make amazing pets! You can teach them lots of amazing tricks (tricks you can teach dogs, such as 'fetch'). Rats are kind; they never bite if it's not necessary. They are surprisingly clean creature. Unlike most small animals, their cages don't get too messy very quickly (remember; their cages still need cleaned!).

However, just like any other little animal, you need to do lots of research. Rats can get VERY sick, VERY quickly. You need to be sure you are giving them the proper care they need.

All in all, rats are amazing creatures and make wonderful pets!

Rats make great pets.My rat, Max is awsome.He love being played with and hes nice with kids.All fancy rats make great pets and they are very nice with in ages of 0 to all ages! They are very loyal, and kind they and they rarely bite.

It depends really. I had rats before, and am getting a couple more soon. They are friendly, sweet and fun to play with. They are active at day. They can be trained to do tricks. I loved mine.

However, the cages are quite expensive for a good one, about £80 to £110. They need company, so you'll need at least two (two girls are the best)

They require regular cage cleaning, and like to be let out the cage often. I think their great, but reseach for yourself and decide.

Yes pet rats are a good choice

even though people say there gross etc. there not .there the cleanest animals in the world there better than hamsters because they NEVER bite. and you can teach them tricks just like a dog! at pet stores like petco or petsmart they sell harnesses for pet rats i have one myself.

rats even can be best friends with a cat or dog etc. its also good to get more than one because they will have someone to play with.

they can eat almost anything for ex: lettace ,carrots, fruit, bread ,cheese but don't give to much cheese or else they get fat. but when you firts get a rat you have to check to see that they werent hurt or have an ear enfection etc. its important to keep them healthy. you change there beding once a week. they don't stick either. they also need to take baths use warm water. at first they might not like water that's normal. i use soap to wash my pet rat but make sure you only wash there body. don't go near there face or eyes. give them a treat that's sweet and youll be best friends again. have fun!

yes, totally! they make great pets! they are highly intelligent and playful but their cages can be costly... go with mice if price is an issue...
