YES it can your player card is online so if you get a new ps3 and enter your email and password it will come up with all your friends, trophies, and multiplayer games will save too
In order to save the second player you have to create a second profile on your PS3 then start the game from that second profile and make a new char there then you can switch to your first profile and the second player can load the char from the first profile and it will save.
You first need to add a new user to your PS3, then you can make another online profile for every new user account you make. Just sign up on them like you did on your first one.
Create a new profile of the PS3, load it and then load the game.
First off its not lag, its just the load time for the game is probably taking a while. The only way to decrease the load is to install the game onto your ps3 (You can do it on xbox, but I am not so sure about ps3). Another reson could be the amount of saves or hours spent on one profile. The only way to fux that is to delete the saves or make a new profile. The load time gets longer as you add more hours to the game because it has to save everything you've done on that profile which ends up being a little too much to handle.
Select Create Game : Then select New Campaign or Freeworld Play Hit X to Start, exactly in the same way you did to start your first game !!
