Best Answer

Yes. It is as thin as paper and it can give you a cut similar to a paper cut, only difference is that it tends to hurt more.

Can a dull mower blade cause your grass to turn yellow?

A dull mower blade will "tear" the grass instead of "cut" it. The jagged blades of grass will dry up and cause your lawn to look brownish or even yellowish - much like when cut grass clippings turn from green to brown/yellow as they dry up.

What machine cuts grass best?

Scissors and a small ruler, cut each blade manually.

Should a double blade lawn mower cut grass without leaving a streak of grass in middle of cut?

Yes it should cut grass without leaving a streak uncut. You may want to check your blades - they may be worn and getting shorter.

How do i cut the grass the lawn is literally moving with hundreds of baby frogs?

By hand...one blade at a time.

After changing the lawn mower blade on a Yard King with a universal mulcher blade - it doesn't cut the grass as well leaving strands of uncut grass Why is this?

If it is a multi blade unit check to see if the blades are the correct size, otherwise when mulching the machine is cutting and recutting the grass inside the deck, the grass must be cut often and it must be dry. Either of these conditions will cause too much grass to be inside the deck slowing down the mower and lessening its ability to cut. Traction speed must be also slow. You can probably hear rumbling noises in the deck along with the engine slowing down and when you lift the deck up wet grass will spit out. As a trade for not bagging clippings you will need to slow way down, cut often enough that you are cutting less each time, never cut when the grass is wet. The first thing i would do is to confirm proper/correct blade installation. If the blade is upside down it will cutwith the back side of the blade (not sharp). With the blade in place and the spark plug disconnected, gentle pull the starter handle with only enough force to cause the blade to turn slightly. Is the blade's sharp edge the leading edge. If not then remove turn the blade over and try it again. I have done this my self when i was in a hurry hope it helps.

Can one cut the grass in the rain?

1. It depends on the lawn mower, if its a ride on you shouldn't because you can make tyre marks on the grass. 2. you secondly shouldn't because the mower blade doesn't function as well when its wet, because the mower blade can just bend the blade of grass and your lawn won't look as good as it would if it was cut dry.

What are scythes?

Scythes are tools having a long handle and a long curved single-edged blade. They are used to cut grass, crops, or other plants by swinging the blade close to the ground.

Why can grass be cut frequently and it continues to grow while many other plants cannot grow if they are damaged at the tip?

Grass is not a tip grower, each blade grows from it's base, so therefore it will continue to grow even when cut.
