I'm going to assume you mean; Can a person with a gun permit carry a gun into a store like Wal-mart? The answer is, generally yes, but it depends. Each state in the U.S. sets its own laws regarding gun permits and restricted locations. I don't know of any state where "stores" are a restricted location. In some states, anywhere that sells alcohol is a restricted location, so if this is the case, and the store sells alcohol, it isn't legal. Additionally, businesses can put up a sign restricting guns (or anything else they see fit). However, in some states, ignoring the sign carries no legal consequences. As a mere example, in Tennessee, if you have a gun permit, the places you can't legally a handgun by statute are: Federal property, because state laws don't normally apply there.

Parks and some recreational facilities
Any business that posts a properly worded sign restricting firearms but basically, with a permit, you can carry a handgun anywhere else, including stores.
