Sure if you own and operate a normal body shop and the company agrees to such. You cannot pocket the claim check based on someone else's estimate. Firstly the company must make certain the repairs are done in the same manner as the shop would do. Also, someone is going to get a 1099 for the amount paid as required by the IRS. The company also has a responsibility to the lienholder if their is one to make sure they are protected. This is why they can only make a check to you and the bank or you and the body shop. This is to prevent people from doing this.
