There is no clergy laity division in JW's. A person who is a Jehovah's Witness is one who gives witness or testimony about Jehovah, the God of The Bible. That person can be of any age. All of Jehovah's Witnesses are ministers. We have no clergy class. A person becomes a witness of Jehovah, when they begin to witness about Jehovah, and they are officially counted among our numbers when they get baptised and continue to witness about Jehovah. That person can be of any reasonable age, as long as they have a reasonable knowledge of the Bible and understand the seriousness of making a personal dedication to God. Often, however, unbaptised children of JW parents will accompany their parents to doors while they engage in the ministry, and may even share a role in the presentations. Some may even be what we refer to as "unbaptised publishers." But, they are not regarded as "lay persons," since we are all brothers and sisters, with no clergy class distinction.
