The eye color can change, but it remains in the same color band (blue or brown). There are eyes that never change unless a gene mutation occurs, but particularly hazel eyes change frequently during a person's lifetime. That's why the iris color cannot be used as positive identification in the police force or military.

My eyes are hazel in color but are getting lighter as I age. They used to have more brown than green but now more green than brown and are beginning to look more blue at times. They also change color depending on what color I am wearing or looking at. I have asked people to look at my eyes after I looked at colored paper that they could not see. The answer changed depending on what color I had looked at last.

Yes, because when I was a baby up until I think 6 I had green eyes, then they would change ever so often to either green or hazel depending on what I wear now their either a honey brown or sometimes rarely hazel.
