In the short perspective, you can lose weight from using a sauna.

But the weight lost will be from sweat - water, not fat.

The moment you've quenched your thirst, you'll be right back where you started.

And staying thirsty is not a good idea. Initial effects of dehydration is headaches, severe effects may include organ failure and kidney damage, even death.

It's pretty much only useful for athletes who need to momentarily get under a certain weight to qualify for a certain weight class prior to a competition.

Yes, sitting in a sauna can help you lose weight. However, the weight you are losing is water in the form of sweat. This can be very dangerous, as you can become dehydrated from the water loss.
