The only Shark capable of swimming in fresh water is the Bull Shark in fact it raises young in fresh water because the ocean has too many predators.

There are only bull sharks in the Mississippi river. I have never heard of an attack as a minnesotan. Bull sharks are the only shark that can live in fresh water. Either way nobody would want to swim in the Mississippi.
Actually there is one variation of Shark that lives in the bay only during Summer and Fall, It is called a Sandbar shark. Generally only the juveniles will live in the bay and they will normally stay in warm shallow waters.
