Sadly, the stories themselves aren't real, but all could learn from the unconditional love that the characters in these stories share between each other.
Many of the original fairy tales, such as those collected by Hans Christian Anders and the Grimm brothers, do have some remote basis in fact. They evolved from old wives tales, cautionary tales, parables, teaching stories and what we would now call urban legends passed down from generation to generation.
The newer "happily-ever-after" stories made into animated movies and books are more for entertainment than to be believed as fact.
Fairy Tales were written hundreds to thousands of years ago. In today's life we don't know much about life then but we can take a pretty accurate guess. We believe that they are based NOT on true stories but nearly all have a moral. Beauty and the Beast (It did exist before Disney)- Never judge a book by it's cover. We highly doubt that it was based on real life.
NO way
Fairy tale land, as depicted in stories and folklore, is not a real, tangible place in the physical world. However, the themes, morals, and imagery found in Fairy Tales often reflect universal human experiences and emotions.
Yes, but many are based on fantasy and some seem to raise hazardous thought patterns. The idea that all handicaps somehow abate as one matures is false- uncorrected visual impairment can degenerate to blindness, for example. There are some that are so far out- such as Beauty and the Beast to well be in a morality twilight zone. the Beast character forcefully abducted Belle ( a crime) we never learn just what happened to her missing inventor-businessman father- who may have been Murdered by the Beast! He went on a business trip and never came back! There are even some fairy tales- well, it stretches the term where the Bad guys or evil characters win or get away with their serious wrongdoing. Examples include the Pied Piper of Hamelin, which is in my opinion , a watered down anti-war tale maybe based on the Children:s crusade wich ended in a nightmare of accidents, war casulaties, slavery and what we would now call- Child abuse. really not a fairyland at all.
Not all folk tales are real, but some are based on true stories. Folk tales are stories that have been passed down over several generations and often change as the years pass.
Some are based on events, but most are mythical/impossible.
Depends on the characters of the fairy tale.

Is SpongeBob a fairy tale
No, she is physically unreal. There may be a human with long hair, but it would be impossible to climb up it. This is a fairy tale character. Fairy tales are not real.
it means to dream of a land where everything is perfect and works out in the end like how things are in a fairy tale
