Best Answer

No.

The MythBusters had a segment in Episode 123 (Original Air Date: June 10, 2009) and "Busted" this myth. They discovered that a bullet is traveling too fast for a flick of the arm or wrist to alter the trajectory.

It depends on if you have like a bent gun. If it is straight, it wont curve at all

Both gravity and wind alter the trajectory of a bullet. It may also ricochet if it strikes an object at an oblique angle. Otherwise there is little you can do.

Yes. It actually is possible.

Using a smoothbore firearm with a ball bullet, and by spinning the firearm as it is fired, one could use the Magnus effect to curve the bullet's path. However, this curve would only be noticeable over great distances, and would like add up to only a few degrees change in direction before the bullet either landed or struck something.

However, it is impossible to do this with modern bullets, as the sideways spin cannot be imparted to the bullet in any way while it is fired, due to their shape and ballistic properties. To do so requires destabilising the bullet and making it highly inaccurate and unpredictable.

they did test curving a bullet on mythbusters and you cannot do it

Can you make a bullet curve in the air?

No. A cross wind will cause it to curve slightly on the horizontal plane and gravity will make it curve vertically, but you cannot MAKE it curve unless you possess powers of telekinesis.

A bullet fired horizontally has how many forces acting on it after leaving the rifle?

It has gravity pulling it down, inertia pushing it forward, the spin of the bullet causing it to curve VERY slightly, and air resistance slowing it down.

How does a bullet pierce the skin?

Like all laws of physics, every action has an equal and opposite reaction. In this case, the bullet has a motion propelled by kinetic energy and the skin is the opposing force or reaction.Since the bullet's force is greater than the skin;s resisting force, it pierces the skin, the point first curve sufficing the laceration to the skin, for the bullet to go through.

Can a bullet be shot down with another bullet?

If you have incredible aim and like lightening fast reflexes, then i guess its possible, but i would say its pretty much impossible, or you would have to get like 1 and 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 lucky to stop a bullet with another bullet

Will a bullet fired from a level gun hit the earth at the same time as the gun if it is dropped at the same time?

no. as long as there are no obstacles present, the bullet would theoretically fall longer than the gun, because the Earth is curved, and the Earth would curve away from the bullet just a little bit before the bullet reached the Earth's surface, making the fall just a little bit longer. this effect will be magnified if the bullet moves at a very high velocity. This is essentially what happens when an object is in orbit, only when an object is in orbit, it is moving quickly enough that the Earth has completely curved out of it's falling path before it reaches the ground.

If you shoot a gun can you curve the bullet?

no it is pretty impossible to cuve the bullet because if you move the gun as you pull the trigger the bullet would just move in that direction.

Can someone really curve a bullet?

Not like you've seen in some movies. There are things that CAN cause a bullet to curve, but its usually an artifact in manufacturing, like an imbalance, or an unequal aerodynamic drag. All other things being equal, the direction the muzzle is pointing when the bullet leaves the barrel determines the direction the bullet will travel; a ballistics arch from that point to where it impacts.

Would the long range bullet that Cross used in Wanted work?

I was looking for the answer to that myself also. However I think not, why make something as simple as a bullet that complicated. Also u cannot curve a bullet.

Is it possible to curve a bullet with any type of firearm?

Bullets do not fly straight. They travel in a predictable ballistic arc but could not be curved in a controlled fashion.Answer:Bullets, like golf balls, can be made to veer left, right, up or down by inducing a spin on the projectile as it leaves the barrel. Pitchers in baseball can do the same "trick". This is especially true for smooth bore rifles where a slight curve in the barrel or a sudden movement in the barrel as the bullet travels down it can alter the spin. This directionality is due to Bernoulli's principle. The side of the bullet spinning into the direction of travel has less atmospheric pressure on it and the bullet moves towards the lower pressure.Scientists studying the effect in the 1800's would amaze their friends by shooting around card in the middle of the range to hit a card directly behind the card at the end of the range.Modern artillery hells are steerable from the ground with the use of deployable fins. This allows the shell to be guided directly to the target with amazing accuracy.Shorter Version:It isn't possible at all the bend a bullet like in the movie "Wanted" but it is possible for a bullet to bend or curve if it is fired over a long distance due to wind resistance and gravity.Additional:I'm not sure but there was some video on bending bullet a couple years ago and if i remember right there was a piece of equipment that could actually curve the bullet but not drastically. It would move like 1 or 2cm at the most.

Is shooting a ice bullet possible?

Yes, shooting an ice bullet is possible but very difficult. In order to shoot an ice bullet one would need to use a specially designed gun that will not create too much heat which can damage the bullet making it impossible to shoot.
