If you do not eat cinnamon as a regular part of your diet, anything more than about 3-6 grams a day is usually not recommended. You can eat more without adverse effect if it is a regular part of your diet in significant amounts. Some beneficial effects on type 2 diabetics have been reported for people who have take up to 9 grams a day, usually in 3 divided doses.
This is for "true" cinnamon, or Ceylon cinnamon. Cassia cinnamon, which is cheaper and what is usually found in your grocery store, contains coumarin, a blood thinner, which should not be consumed in large quantities. Check the label.
i'm sure someone out there can but i heard in several places that most people can't. just like most people can't lick their elbow.
Another answer. Please don't try this with powdered cinnamon. It is so fine, you can aspirate it in to your lungs if you cough or choke. This may result in aspiration pneumonia.I've seen then choke and vomit - as above, it's too fine, and you really could aspirate or find out you have some kind of chemical induced pneumonia. Recommend the "just a spoon full of sugar" with it to help it go down.
You can swallow pretty much any substance on Earth, but Cinnamon is a very dry substance. If you try to swallow it without water, it will suck the moisture out of your mouth and make swallowing very difficult.
It could or might but probably not...
Your stomach acid would kill most of anything that could be on the aged cinnamon.
Unless, it was moist or discolored...Moldy or growing things on it.
If you dug it out the garbage maybe.
If it was not sealed in the original container than possibly.
Dried cinnamon can last for years without any problems.
You can, but it wouldn't taste very good. It would be better mixed in a cookie recipe. It will tast gross but yes as a fact i have done it be for when my 28 year old bro dared me to...
i suppose so
no because Cinnamon is a long brown stick
you can but you will have a weird accent you might get sick but most likely you won't
Yes. I've tried it and i was gagging and throwing up for almost an hour...and I have an amazing gag reflex. It makes your mouth burn and makes your throat beyond raw and you won't want to eat cinnamon for a LONG time...just saying i wouldn't try it.
Instead of using sugar to give food flavor, you can use cinnamon, which has no glucose (sugar). People with diabetes have to eat sugar in moderation, so using cinnamon as a substitute for sugar is a good way to cut down on sugar. Cinnamon also helps to regulate blood sugar, so it's very healthy for people with diabetes. But never consume more than one tablespoon per day. More than one tablespoon can make you sick because of the natural oils in the cinnamon.
