You can take an ad out in the paper saying "I denounce 123-45-6789!" in bold type and it's perfectly legal.
That's the ONLY way in which the question makes any sense to me.
If you mean that you don't want to participate in the social security system at all, there is one option I know of: move to an Amish community and become Amish. The Amish are permitted to exempt themselves from Social Security taxes on religious grounds, because the Amish community has a very long history of taking care of elderly/infirm and destitute members (who therefore don't collect Social Security benefits either). You've got to really be committed to the belief system and the lifestyle to do this, though, because if you try it as a tax Dodge both the US and the Amish will take a very dim view of it.
The other option is to choose not to participate in social security by never applying for benefits. I don't think anyone can make you take social security benefits if you don't want them. You'll still have to pay the FICA taxes though.
Yes, if you can otherwise legally purchase a handgun, there is no requirement to have a social security number.
No. If you are here legally, there is no way to get a social security card. However, if you obtain a student visa or work visa, you will be issued a social security number.

Your Social Security number still technically belongs to you. However, unless you would be legally permitted to return to the United States, you cannot receive any benefits.
You are not legally required to know your social security number, however, there are many situations in which you will need to know it; you cannot apply for a job or open a bank account without a social security number.
Yes, you can change your name legally by going through a formal process in your jurisdiction, typically involving a court order or a marriage/divorce certificate. However, changing your social security number is generally more difficult and is usually only allowed in specific circumstances, such as identity theft or harassment. It's best to contact the Social Security Administration for guidance on changing your SS number.
Your social security card never expires. You will only need a new one if you are legally changing your name or it has been lost or stolen. However, your social security number will never change.
Social security numbers do not expire. They belong to the person who receive them for life. If the person legally returns to the United States, they would pick right back up using the same social security number.
You don't buy a social security number. You go to your local social security office and apply to receive your own personal social security number.Buying a social security number is against the law.
