The sacrament of baptism may be carried out at any point during Lent. It is, however, customary not to baptise people on Good Friday or Holy Saturday (that is, after the Maundy Thursday mass until the celebration of Easter Vigil), unless they are in immediate danger of death.

As a priest in the Orthodox Church, I can aver that baptisms may be performed at any time during the year. However, in the case of newborn children being baptized (which is the most frequent occurrence of the sacrament), the family will often wait until a period of fasting is over -- not because the sacrament is forbidden, but because the celebration held afterwards should be restricted to fasting foods during fasting periods. (There are four major fasting periods in the Orthodox ecclesial year: Great Lent, the "Nativity Fast," the "Dormition Fast" and the "Apostles Fast" before the Feast of Ss. Peter and Paul.) Though a baptism may be performed on most any day, the most traditional practice is to do so on Sunday, the Lord's Day, as a connection to the Resurrection. In the early centuries of the Christian Church, those converting to the Faith were usually baptized at Pascha (Easter), and that spiritual connection remains essential. (previous answer posted):

Can baptism be done during advent in the catholic church?

Yes, although most Pastors discourage the practice.Canon 856 of the Code of Canon Law says that, although Baptism may be celebrated on any day, it is commendable to celebrate it ordinarily on Sunday or, if possible, at the Easter Vigil. The Code also encourages Baptism during the celebration of the Eucharist so that the relationship between Baptism and Eucharist will be clearly seen.Since Lent is sufficiently close to Easter, most Pastors recommend that the baptism be performed at Easter.
