The Gloria is not said or sung and the Alleluia is not said during Lent.
The Gloria is not said during Lent.
The Gloria is not said at Mass during Advent and Lent.
The only "part" of the Mass omitted during Lent is the Gloria, a prayer normally used after the penitential rite near the the beginning of the Mass. This is the prayer that begins "Glory to God in the highest..." The other thing different about Mass in Lent is the suppression of the word "Alleluia". This one word is used (sometimes repeated 2 or 3 times) just prior to the proclamation of the Gospel. Hymns are sometimes used at Mass (though these are not technically part of the Mass). If a hymn contains the word "Alleluia" it is also not used during Lent.
there is never no mass celebrated during lent
During Lent, the Gloria and the Alleluia are not said or sung during the Mass. This is because Lent is meant to be a solemn time where we reflect on our sinfulness and how we can better ourselves. Both the Gloria and the Alleluia are joyful prayers. The Gloria is said on Holy Thursday, and then both the Gloria and the Alleluia are reinstated in the Mass on Easter Sunday.
In the Traditional Roman Rite the Alleluia is used on Sundays of Advent along with the Gradual, but if the Mass from the Sunday is used during the week the Alleluia is omitted. It is not omitted during Advent in the Divine Office.
Mass is highest prayer of the catholic church. This is sign of receiving Christ while vigil is for mourning. It happens during the season of Lent.
The First Mass of Lent is the Mass on Ash Wednesday, at which ashes are imposed on the foreheads of the faithful after the homily. It has no special name, and despite the fact that it isn't even a Feast or a Solemnity, it has two readings before the Gospel, like a Solemnity (in the old Calendar it carried the rank of First Class-apparently it has no ranking at all anymore, not even that of an optional memorial, rather strange).
It is on Holy Thursday.

In the Catholic Church, Lent ends with Mid-Afternoon Prayer (None) on Holy Thursday during Holy Week:from ORDO Order of Prayer in the Liturgy of the Hours and Celebration of the Eucharist 2013, compiled by Rev. The Easter triduum begins with the Evening Mass of the Lord's Supper, ending with the conclusion of Vespers on Easter Sunday. Evening Prayer today is celebrated only by those not participating in the evening Mass.
