Pokémon X and Pokémon Y are for the Nintendo 3DS and thus cannot be played on a regular DS such as the original DS and the DS Lite and they also can't be played on the DSi or DSi XL however they can be played on the Nintendo 2DS.
No, the cartridge won't fit into your Nintendo DS, not to mention the system itself is less powerful and can't run the games. You either need a 3DS, 3DS XL or a 2DS.

Pokemon X and Y versions are being developed for the Nintendo 3DS. They will not be playable on a Nintendo DS however they can be played on a Nintendo 2DS but they will not have the 3D features that the Nintendo 3DS systems will include.
Think so but if not then she probliy has a x box or a play station 3 or a dsi or a game boy or a Nintendeo ds IRS ds lite.
DS games will not work on an older Advance (GBA) because the GBA has no touchscreen, the GBA has no microphone, the GBA has no X/Y buttons, and the DS games will probably not fit. If you want to play the DS games, buy a DS on Ebay or something.
No, Pokemon Black and White, as well as Black 2 and White 2, are for the Nintendo DS. However, these games can still be played on the Nintendo 3DS familyNo, the games are exclusively for the DS. That's not to say the 3DS hasn't gotten a Pokemon game, though - X and Y were released for the 3DS last year.
