"I" and "you" are pronouns.

If you are asking about their parts of speech, this is accurate. If you're asking the question I suspect you are, then I have another answer for you.

"I" language is where a person talks about themselves. This isn't just, "Look what I got," or "Look what I did!" It extends to things like, "It's my fault," "I should have know better," or "I screwed up, I'm sorry."

"You" language is where a person talks about others. Similarly, it isn't just, "Look what you did!" or "How dare you?" or even "You should have done better!" It also extends to "You did a good job," or "You've hit the nail on the head."

Both of these types of language can be annoying. A person continuously using negative "I language" is a real downer, and a person constantly using positive "you language" can be a confidence boost, but it can be annoying.

I hope that answered your question.

I language refers to statements that focus on one's feelings, thoughts, and experiences without attributing blame to others. On the other hand, You language places blame or responsibility on others, often causing defensiveness or conflict. Using I language can improve communication and promote understanding in conversations.
