Best Answer

yes , it'll give you a darker sound because that is the metal bronze characteristic. I suggest nickel or steel strings for an Electric Guitar to get the pickups to work properly.

Yes, no problem. Martin strings can be used on almost any acoustic guitar.

Can you use light guitar strings on an electric acoustic?

You shouldn't do this. They have different types of strings for a reason. But if you're still insistent upon trying it, make sure you have a professional guitar tech do this for you, because chances are, even if you use the exact same gauged strings, you will have to have your truss rod readjusted, which will cost more than buying strings that are made for an electric guitar.

Are e strings on and electric guitar the same as on an acustic?

It all depends on what type of acoustic guitar it is, if its a classical then its nylon strung, steel strung acoustics can use the same strings as an electric. Some people prefer "bronze" strings for their acoustic. May 2013 As a side note, It is important to understand strings and acoustic/classical guitars. Classical or palor guitars are best suited using nylon strings since most do not have truss rods in the neck. Therefore keeps the string tension less and not an aid in warping the neck. DO NOT put steel strings on a Classical guitar! Nylon strings also create a warmer more inviting sound for the style of music played. A classical guitar has a slotted headstock not solid and tuning keys are in a downward position. Bronze Phospher strings are best suited for a standard acoustic guitar which Notably has a solid headstock with horizontal tuning keys. These guitars generally have an adjustable truss rod in the neck and aid in support of the string tension pull. Bronze strings allow a less pull on the neck while allowing ease of tuning and a somewhat brighter sound that nylon and warmer than steel. Steel strings can be used on a standard acoustic, but I don't recommended using them. There are many style and gauge strings available for all guitars, when in doubt go to your local music store and ask for help, its free, with the purchase of a set of strings.

Is it possible to convert classic guitar to acoustic guitar?

Not a good idea. The classical guitar is made for nylon strings that put less tension on the bridge than the steel strings used for standard acoustic guitars. It would most likely pull the bridge off the guitar.

Can you use acoustic guitar strings for acoustic electric?

using acoustic strings on an electric does not damage the guitar. tightening them too tight does. acoustic strings tend to be thicker than electric strings, so all you have to do is just tune lower to avoid putting too much stress on the neck. i just want to know why they use different materials to make them. ============ Answer No the strings are completely different. It would be much harder to play an electric even if for some reason you did put them on. And you definitely don't want to mix the two! ================ I'd be inclined to think that stringing thicker, shorter acoustic strings on an electric guitar would actually damage the electric guitar. It wasn't built to withstand that kind of string tension. The reverse can be done -- using electric strings on an acoustic guitar -- but you won't get a great deal of tone or attack. Great for a very easy-playing acoustic guitar for songwriting and low-volume playing, though.

What are the easiest acoustic guitar strings to play and have the best sound For an Acousticelectric guitar?

the best string size for this is 8-38 but their very quiet and break easily. its best to just stick with light gauge 9-42 until your fingers develop strength. Think of it like weight training. My advice is to lower the action as its much easier if your strings are low to the fretboard and of course lower tunings aren't as brutal to your fingers.

If you put duct tape on your guitar will the sound be different?

If you put it over the strings or pickups it will have a bigger effect on an electric guitar, on an acoustic it will deaden the sound if applied to the sound board.

Can you buy strings for a Beginners guitar?

of course for electric guitars I suggest GHS Boomers or D'Addario they last very long periods of time and everything. Any guitar you can put strings on it comes down to.

Do acoustic guitar nylon strings silvercoated work on acoustic electric?

YES IT DOES but if your guitar starts off with metal strings keep to metal strings.if you start to use nilon your guitar neck will eventuly weaken. if your guitar starts off with nilon strings NEVER EVER put metal strings on on it. your guitar neck will not be able to widstand the presure and your neck will sink there for stuffing your guitar.
