Not only will it turn yellow, it will become really brittle and break off. However, depending on what look you're going for, it might not bother you. I know this because I tried it when I was a teenager. (Oh to be young and punk rock.) If you're after a cheap bleach job, go to a beauty supply place and get some powered bleach and developer. The whole thing is probably less than $10. It'll still wreck your hair, but not quite so badly. Anyhow, if you're really intent on bleaching your hair (with Clorox or "real" hair bleach) get yourself some heavy-duty conditioner. You'll need it.
