Yes, you can, as long as you do not make more than your weekly benefit amount after reducing by $25 or 25% of your wages payable, whichever is greater and you only work part time. Your weekly benefit check will be reduced by the remaining amount.
Such work can be either in employment or self-employment, and earnings from such work are deductible from the weekly benefit amount.
So this means if your weekly benefit amount is $100, you could make $125 in a week and not lose unemployment insurance.
After you qualify for unemployment compensation they determine your weekly benefits, and the maximum you could earn, because the minimum weekly benefit is $40, subtracting the greater amount ($25) from your earnings means you could have a MAXIMUM gross income of $65 per week. After subtracting the $25, leaves $40, which subtracted from your benefit of $40, gives you $0 benefits for that week, but $65 from the job.
The maximum of $450 benefits payable weekly means you could earn $450 plus 25% of earnings or a MAXIMUM of $600 per week. After subtracting the 25% ($150) and $450 from your earnings leaves you with $0 benefits for that week, but $600 from the job. Another example: If your benefit was $450 per week and you earned $500 in a week, subtract 25% of 500 ($125) from $500. The $375 left is deducted from your $450 benefit, giving you $75 from your benefit, or a total of$575 from both sources
Yes you can. My question is, my employer is cutting me down to another position in March, 2012, and I will go from full time to part time, and the loss of benefits. If they cannot place me in a comparable position within 30 miles, and they cannot, I am entitled to a severance if I decline the part time. If I were to do this, in CA will it make me ineligible for unemployment here?
Yes, if you meet all the requirements any claimant needs to make.
Yes you can. EDD will take your part-time income into consideration when calculating your benefits but you will still receive some part of the total benefit...just not the whole amount.
You can collect unemployment is you are fired from you job. You age doesn't matter when it comes to unemployment.
In most states, California included, you can receive unemployment benefits while still receiving your full Social Security benefits.
You cannot collect when you have voluntarily left a job. Has to be a lay off or firing... can you collect if hes out of work and found another job in California
I don't think you can collect unemployment if you QUIT your job to relocate. If the company was relocating to California (or anywhere farther than 50 miles- I think), and you did not want to relocate, then I believe you can get unemployment.
You can collect unemployment after state disability if you are healthy enough to return to work, and your employer terminated your employment during your disability. The termination can not be related to your job performance.
As long as you qualify for unemployment, and are looking for work, and are able to accept a job offer, you can collect unemployment. If you're not looking for a job, or your class schedule won't allow you to take a job, then you can't collect unemployment. The employment office will check your class schedule to make sure you are able to accept a job if offered one.
Yes California will pay you unemployment benefits if you quit your job to relocate with a spouse in order to preserve your marriage and keep in tact
No. You QUIT the job. To get unemployment you have to be fired.
No, if you quit your job, you are no longer eligible for unemployment insurance benefits.
Technically you can not collect unemployment if your school schedule interfers with any job opportunity.
Yes, you can collect unemployment. But you still need to look for a job. If you are retire you will receive a reduced amount.
Can you collect unemployment in PA if you lost your part time job but still work a full time job?
