I would say always check wikipedia, and if that doesn't help, check the medical prescription information paper things that come with your meds. To me there's nothing obvious why you couldn't

I was just put back on seroquel 150mg every evening for the past month and have been takining 1mg of Klonopin twice a day. I am feeling sedated and depressed during most of my day. I tried stopping the Klonopin cold turkey but began to feel awful side effects (I've been on this drug for five years now) Headaches, racing BP, restless leg disorder. I had to go back on it to calm me down. I am in a pickle as what to do here. Is there anyone that can give me advice? Daniel

No! The best one to take is clonazapam. This drug is better because it isn't addictive and the half life for clonazapam is approx. 4 days. Ativan does work very well in treating anxiety and panic attacks but it is extremely addictive and its half life is approx. 8 to10 hours. Ativan works on the same receptors in the brain as alcohol. So for a recovering alcoholic, the withdraw effects from Ativan will be the same as coming away from alcohol all over again. This becomes frustrating!

I'm a recovering alcoholic for the past 10 years and I started taking 2mg of Ativan twice a day and sometimes more. It was keeping the discomfort under control. I used it for a year and a half. Now I'm seeing a new Doctor and she has taken me off the Ativan and increased my clonazapam dose form 1mg to 4mg per day. I got to say, "I wish that I had never even heard of Ativan before!"
