Is it ok to have just ONE RING as your Wedding & Engagement ring?! So at your wedding, instead of receiving another ring/band you just use your Engagement Ring to be put on your finger at the ceremony? The reason why I ask this is because I have NEVER been a fan of jewelry to begin with and NEVER wore rings until I got engaged. Even after being engaged it has been hard to wear my ring (I just don't like things on my hand) and I only wear it when I leave the house on special occasions or anytime I'm with my fiance. It may sound funny but I actually have a bit of Jewelry/metal phobia. So since there is no way I'll be comfortable wearing two rings, can I just make my engagement ring my wedding ring?
The answer is yes: wear what makes you comfortable.
My wedding set (engagement ring and matching wedding band.)
The wedding ring goes behind the engagement ring, closest to the heart.
Wedding Ring..You keep it closer to your heart.
I believe you are asking if you can give just the engagement ring and not the whole wedding set. Please clarify the question, if this is not the case. Yes, you can give just an engagement ring. Usually the man proposes with an engagement ring and then the wedding band is worn after the wedding along side the engagement ring.
Wedding ring first, engagement ring next, eternity ring last.
yes.
Yes, people of Western countries wear the engagement and wedding ring on the same finger.
yes, usually women wear the engagement ring with the wedding ring on her left hand's ring finger together.
Your engagement ring goes on the left hand ring finger, then at the wedding you move it to the right hand so your wedding ring can be placed on this finger and move it back later. You can buy engagement and wedding rings that match, but if you have a very fancy engagement ring it is better to have a plain wedding ring.
* No wedding rings or bands shouldn't cost more than an engagement ring in most cases. Often the engagement ring may come with the wedding ring. With the way the economy is going now you should have no problem getting a fairly good deal on an engagement and wedding ring.
It is not a Western tradition for the parents of the groom to buy the bride's engagement or wedding ring. Your son would buy the engagement ring and wedding ring generally as a set. He can either take his fiance into a jewelry store and let her pick out the ring or, he could choose an engagement ring (along with a wedding ring) and take a chance she will like it.
If you plan to ask her to marry you, you should give her an engagement ring. The majority of engagement rings are diamond but keep in mind that you can easily find a diamond engagement ring for your budget. If you buy a nice engagement ring, you and your bride-to-be can buy your wedding rings with or without diamonds or just plain gold (or another material) wedding bands.
