Yes, a horse can run blindfolded but I encourage you NOT to blindfold a horse. He could trip, run into something and get seriously injured or even killed. Blindfolding a horse could spook him, too, which would also put you in danger.
It could be that the horse mating on a horse and another horse comes up and mates a second time. Horse will do that sometimes.
Most likely it's to remove the scent that would attract a predator like a wolf or cougar to that injured horse.
It means that a horse has a painful back. It could be caused by several things. Could be a bad fitting saddle, or the stretching of injured tissue. Also could be lameness, when the horse adjusts its posture so he wont put weight on his bum limb.

There is no real word for an injured horse that can't race. Most injured racehorses are either retired to stud / broodmare, retrained as riding horses, or possibly put to sleep.
If you mean riding a horse: DON'T DO IT!!!!! If you wear an ipod while riding, you could not hear noises of things that could spook your horse, or comments from your instructor. You could be severely injured. You would put yourself, the horse, and the people around you at risk. Save your ipod for working out or riding in a car(not driving).
At your height and weight I'd pick a horse in the high 15 hands range. Also remember that a horse shouldn't carry more than 20% of it's own body weight( and no fat/overweight horses cannot carry more) This includes tack and rider weight together. You should also look for a horse with thick cannon bones and broad loins.
Yes Horses do Get injured when racing for instance if say your riding and your horse has dirt flicked up at their eyes they may not be able to see so the could cut themselves if they run into something!
