Hitler had no regrets. He never expressed any regrets for any of his crimes. On the contrary, in the last days of his life in the Bunker, he became increasingly arrogant. He even said that the Germans had shown themselves unworthy of him and his leadership! In other words he committed suicide claiming that he'd been too good for the Germans.

Hitler could not regret being a Jew because he was not a Jew. This myth I think began because there is a tombstone with the name of Hitler's mother on it in a German cemetery. The tombstone also has the Star of David. Ah ha, said those people who wondered if Hitler was a Jew. We have proof. Alas, they forgot to look at the birth day of the woman. She would have been in her 80's when she gave birth to Adolf. Sorry, he was not a Jew.

No, he did not regret the Holocaust. The reason why he doesn't regret it is because he had a dream of creating a " Super Race" of humans, making them more perfect than any other race in all of humanity. Hitler also realized the drawbacks from this event: Many would stand up and protest to this. So he did what he thought was necessary: send out Waffen SS troops and Gestapo Green police" teams to track down any who would resist the will of the Nazi's ( mostly the Jewish people targeted by this event.

No. Mainly for the reason than he had no plans. Plans were finally made in 1942, but they were more a reaction to events which were already happening.

Ordinary Germans were never asked about that. In fact, they weren't even told about the 'Final Solution' (Holocaust). It was supposed to be top secret, but various stories got out ... This suggests that the Nazi regime thought the Holocaust didn't enjoy mass support.

Did Hitler know about the extermination of Jews when it first began or did Himmler take it upon himself to begin killing the Jews?

Well, Himmler was Hitler's right-hand man, but mostly Hitler was the brains of the operations so the plan of the executions of the Jews was Hitler's ideas and plans. Himmler just put in charge and carried out the Final Solution for him. * In view of the scale of the holocaust, its duration and number of German SS men involved, one can safely assume that it was ordered by Hitler. In their diaries both Goebbels and Goering recorded lengthy discussions with Hitler about the Final Solution * Hitler's obsessive antisemitic raving and ranting created the political climate that made the Holocaust possible, perhaps almost inevitable.
