Yes, the Resurrection occurred in the very early hours of the Sunday morning now known as Easter Sunday.

WRONG!!!! Sorry this person lied to you he did not come back on Easter Sunday he did rise on Sunday but it wasn't Easter just like he wasn't born on December 25. Both these days chosen are Pagan Holidays which were in place LONG before Christianity was founded but Christians who amassed in popularity didn't want them celebrated so they were HAND PICKED to take the place of the pagan holidays that stood there first.

I think you're taking a direction that ends up as twisted as the "facts" you are trying to replace the "facts" you don't like!

The most important thing to consider is that Jesus DID rise on the third day after His Crucifixion, just as He said He would. No, they didn't refer to it as Easter back then...that came much later. The "pagan holiday" the last person referred to as being replaced by Christmas, was the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year. We don't know the exact day that Jesus was born and so church leaders picked a day that we could look to every year to remember how He left heaven to live among us. The exact day of His birth or His resurrection is not fundamentally important. That He was born, was crucified and was resurrected IS the miracle and worth celebrating every day of the year!

Jesus was crucified the day before the Jewish Sabbath (Mark 15:42) - Friday, and was raised on the third day - Monday.
