first of all he commited a horrible sin- and was party to the execution of Christ- a co-conspirator as it were. second he took his own life in nothing that would be called a sacrificial mode- suicide is its own punishment, so they say. sorry, no energy crisis where Judas wound up!

Another Point of View:

Who are we to say the depth of God's mercy? God sent His only begotton Son, not to condemm the world, but to save the world, so that whosoever believe might be saved. This is a gift with no strings. Judas probably believed. That's probably why he took his life. He met the criteria for salvation - belief. Besides, someone had to betray Jesus in order for scripture to be fulfilled - wouldn't it make sense that Judas was simply doing his agreed role, painful as it might have been to him?

The belief that Judas was predestined to go to hell is a theological interpretation. Traditional Christian teachings hold that Judas acted on his own free will when betraying Jesus, leading to his destiny in hell. However, opinions on predestination vary among different Christian denominations.

It is a matter of speculation (at least until all is revealed in the end). I believe that his suicide is evidence that he felt repentant for narcing on Jesus. Besides, I believe God is powerful enough to forgive a lot worse than Judas Iscariot. There are also some schools of thought that suggest that Judas was working with Jesus, not against Him, when he betrayed Him.

What does predestined mean in the New Testament?

Some verses in the Bible to help you find the answer to your question. We are predestined by God to go to either heaven or hell. Acts 13:48, Rom.8:29-30, 9:11-22; Eph.1:4-5, 2 Tim.1:9, Jude 1:4 Predestined, or predestination, means that God has decided if we are going to heaven or hell before we are born. It should be noted that the original biblical texts never mention the word hell. Hell is from ancient Egyptian mythology (look it up). When the Roman empire christianized paganism, or paganized christianity, many myths were incorporated and have been passed down through the centuries.

Was Judas good or bad?

Judas was not necessarily a bad man before his betrayal, but a weak one. The devil influenced him into asking the Romans and the Elders to arrest Jesus so he could get compensation. Jesus was later crucified, and Judas committed suicide. Judas, the Catholic Church believes, is now in hell, because he committed a mortal sin(a sin that must be asked forgiveness for when you die and throughout your life, otherwise you go to hell) and didn't confess, and he had just basically murdered God, so he is a bad person.
