Actually the history of the sandwich is a bit amusing. It goes thus; One night John Montagu a thoroughly incompetent and immoral English lord was too busy gamboling to stop for dinner even though he was hungry.
So he ordered a waiter to bring his a few slices of roast beef between slices of bread. Thus he was able to continue playing at cards,(only one of the many things he was incompetent at doing) while he had his repast.

The word sandwich originated in England. It is said that it is named after the Earl of Sandwich who is supposed to have been the first to make a sandwich.
If you want, you can make him a sandwich. If you don't want to, you tell him to make his own sandwich.
You should either say, "Yes, I'll make you a sandwich," or "No. Make your own sandwich."
