Tremendously. After the second Russian Revolution of 1917, the October Revolution, that left the Bolsheviks in charge, the new regime was desperate for peace at any price, because they understood the Russian people were fed up with the war and would not fight anymore. The price, as formalized in the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk, was a huge, massive chink of western Russia turned over to Germany and the the Austro-Hungarian Empire. At Versailles Germany and the Hapsburg Austro-Hungarian Empire (which was completely dissolved) were forced to cough back up these undigested hunks of Russia. So even though Russia quit the war and left her Allies in the lurch, she did not suffer for it, and her Allies retrieved for Russia what Russia had eagerly given away in the quest for peace.
