However, after the totem pole became famous among Anglo-Americans, many non-Northwest Coast tribes made totem poles that appeared at tourist attractions all over Canada and the United States. So, while totem poles were not part of the Seneca Tribe's traditional material culture, there may have been instances where members of the Seneca Tribe produced "roadside" totem poles for the purpose of attracting tourists.
