William Blount, the first and only governor of the Southwest Territory and he was expelled from the Senate on a charge of treason.

Richard Dobbs Spaight was born in New Bern, North Carolina and was the 8th governor of North Carolina. He was 29 when he signed the US Constitution. He died in 1802 after a duel with John Stanly who had defeated him in the 1800 election for the US House of Representatives. That duel lead North Carolina to pass a law that outlawed that custom.

Hugh Williamson who was born on the Pennsylvania frontier can be considered an international citizen and was one of the greatest intellectuals to sign that document.
