no. the old crackerbox gmc is a 60's vintage truck. 12v71 Detroit engine was not built or produced until the earily 70's hence the 71.

yes. GMC sold a fleet of Astros (COE) with the 12V-71 engine to a company in Alaska and the trucks were used during the construction of the Alaskan oil pipeline circa 1970
