Difference between contiguous and non contiguous memory?
In contiguous allocation there is no overhead during execution of a program. In noncontiguous allocation address translation is performed during execution Contiguous memory allocates single area of memory Noncontigious memory allocates several memory areas - one memory are to each component of a process

The largest chuck of available memory that is not fragmented.
in continuous memory aallocation method no overhaead for trhe execution of progtram. and in non continuous memory aalocation there is overhead on the execution of program
In a contiguous memory allocation there is no overhead duringexecution of a program. In a non contiguous memory allocationaddress translation is performed during execution.
Differentiate between contiguous and non contiguous memory
it is allocation strategy using variable size portions
An adjacent parcel may be a contiguous parcel -- but not vice-versa. Adjacent (or abutting) parcels share common boundaries or property lines; while a contiguous parcel may n…ot share common boundaries but is deemed part of a larger area where the boundaries of the individual parcels that comprise that larger area abut each other.
Contiguous because everyone wanted to play it see it etc it spreadall across usa and the world
The contiguous U.S.is made from the lower 48 states plus the District of Columbia. The continental U.S. contains the contiguous U.S. plus Alaska. Remember it this way. Alas…ka is part of the North America continent, hence it is part of the continental U.S. Generally, you don't say contiguous 48, just contiguous U.S. The lower 48 states do not include the District of Columbia, since it is not a state. So, there are three separate terms: continental U.S., contiguous U.S. and lower 48 states. See Sources and related links for additional information.
Contiguous is a word that is used normally when objects are spatially adjacent and Continuous is a word that is normally used when events are adjacent in time. This usage is… probably the reason why arrays are "contiguously" allocated and not "continuously" allocated. On the other hand, a function f(t) is "continuous" and not "contiguous".

Memory allocation: When a program asks for memory and gets it. Contiguous allocation: When the memory is in one big block, for example memory addresses 1000-2000, as opposed… to "fragmented allocation" where the memory comes as several smaller blocks in different places, for example memory addresses 1000-1050, 2050-2125, ...
Contiguous memory is adjacent memory, i.e. memory chunks that are next to one another. Two contiguous memory chunks have sequential memory addresses, and can be consolidated i…nto one chunk by the memory manager.
Sharing is caring: this one curtesy of badmoon36: According to Wikipedia, Alaskans and Hawaiians don't typically use either phrase, instead preferring "the mainland", "sta…teside", "outside" or "the lower 48" (these last two exclusive to AK). Wiki also claims the phrase "continental United States" originated around 1898, when the US acquired Hawaii and other off-shore territories. Proper linguists could argue against this. "Continental" is easily defined, but "contiguous" is often mistaken. According to Dictionary.com, "contiguous" has a few definitions, and not only means "touching" or "in contact" (as in real estate), but also "near" or "in close proximity without actually touching." This then, when applied to this issue, could include Alaska, depending on whether you regard a little less than 500 miles as "close proximity". To complicate things further, there is also the "conterminous United States". "Conterminous" means having common borders, the definition often erroneously attributed to "contiguous".
in contiguous allocation overhead during execution of a program. in non contiguous allocation address translation is performed during execution of a program..
contiguous is "separated in space" and continuous is "separated in time"
The Contiguous US is the lower 48 (all connected, situated between Canada and Mexico). The Continental US is the lower 48 and Alaska (US on the North American continent)
"Contiguous" means the part that's all connected, all parts physically touching each other. The part of the US in which you could walk or drive to anywhere in it without lea…ving the country. Alaska isn't contiguous because you can't walk there without going through Canada. Hawaii isn't contiguous because you can't walk there at all. The "contiguous US" is the "lower 48" states.
