Christians believe that Jesus is both fully human and yet fully divine. He claimed to be God on many occasions ('God the Son'... before Abaham was - I AM.....My Father and I are one .... I am in the Father and the Father is in me....), and his miracles culminating in the mighty resurrection testified to this fact. But he was also fully human; he got tired, he had emotions (he wept when Lazarus died, he was angry and turned over the moneychangers' tables in the Temple) and he ate and drank as would any human. Some pseudoChristian sects claim that jesus was 'Spirit' and nothing more; some claim that he was just a human ut a good teacher - nothing more. But The Bible clearly reveals that Jesus was both man and God, and mainstream Christian denominations attest to this fact.

The term "Divine Nature" is used only once in the Bible by Peter:
"His Divine Power has given us everything we need for Life and Godliness through our Knowledge of Him who called us by His own Glory and Goodness. Through these He has given us His very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the Divine Nature and escape the corruption of the world..." (II Peter 1:3-4 NIV)
In the human birth process... the father's seed, when conceived, imparts to his children the "human nature" -- the temporary corrupt existence of "perishable flesh."
In the same manner, in the "spiritual birth process"... the Father's Seed, the Truth of His Word through the Holy Spirit, imparts His "Divine Nature" to His Children with the "imperishable" Life Force of God.
"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great Mercy He has given us new birth into a Living Hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoilor fade -- kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God's Power until the coming salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time." Human fathers pass their "human nature" [corruptibility and death] on the their children.
The Father in heaven imparts His "Divine Nature" [immortality] on to His.

∙ 12y agoThe church's first Christological statement was based on the two stages in Jesus' existence. He was the Son of David in His human descent, and since the resurrection He is known as the Son of God with power and alive in the Spirit (Romans 1:3-4). The New Testament never explains how to relate the two side to Jesus' person (the human and the divine). The Christological debates leading to the Council of Chalcedon in A.D. 451 concluded that Christ's two natures are united in one Person, and this belief has remained the centralist position of the church ever since.
