The current Colorado River Compact dates back to 1922 with the allotments having been set in 1928. It will be reviewed by the Department of the Interior again in 2016 and the desires and needs of the contributors and users will all be considered. Changes will have to be made and it is almost a sure bet that everyone will not agree on a new compact. What will result wil be placed in the hands of the Supreme Court. Mexico will then surely take the issue to the International Courts and probably by 2025 a new agreement will be in force. Who will be the winners and losers is anybody's guess.
