Most house cats will just catch them, kill them and leave them on your doorstep to show you what they've done. Some house cats eat them up.
Wild cats will eat them because this is their source of food.

∙ 9y agoUsually, most cats won't eat rats or mice because we feed them and they don't need to hunt. If a cat does kill a rat, bird, mouse, or other creature, and then they eat it, they are probably starving. If a cat does drop a dead creature at your feet, it is there way of giving you a gift.
