I would say not to do so because some boys say "your alright" or "why are you asking this to me?". Nothing should stop you from liking them though and if they act nice and they are funny, you are obviously welcome to their world. If they are, edge your way gently closer to them day by day. Make sure none else looks suspicious!

Their is no way to know if a boy likes you but you can ask indirectly. Flirting, hanging out, and being alone is a good way to tell if he likes you.
