Does Kool Aid give you AIDS?

Kool Aid drink mix itself will not give you AID's nor make you HIV positive, despite the misleading name. Furthermore, if you prepare the drink mix into a beverage according to the manufacturer's instructions you should not come down with AID's.

That being said, improper use of the Kool Aid mix could lead to contracting AID's, though I am unaware of any such cases.

For example, if you decide to intravenously inject Kool Aid and regularly share needles with people who are at risk for HIV (such as IV drug users), you could contract AIDs. Be sure to always use clean needles if you choose to inject Kool Aid, and never share needles.

As a general rule, don't use bodily fluids (blood, saliva, semen, etc.) when mixing Kool Aid unless they are your own. Also, do not drink Kool Aid that has been in contact with bodily fluids other than your own, (non-human primates are no exception!).

Kool Aid is no substitute for safe sex practices, so use a condom. And make sure that the Kool Aid mix does not interfere with protective latex barrier.

Lastly, be conscious of where your mix has been. Do not use mix that you find in public, especially if it may have come in contact with bodily fluids. Do not use mix that has been opened previous to purchasing it, again, especially if there are bodily fluids present.

Drinking Kool Aid is a fun and perfectly normal activity and if you drink responsibly, and there is no reason to let the fear of contracting AID's ruin your fun.
