I don't believe a diuretic will assist you losing weight. It will only affect how much liquid your body retains. As your body is mostly liquid you shouldn't try losing weight by drying yourself out. Unless you want to look like a grape. Cut down on simple carbohydrate, eg processed sugars, as sugar gets turned into fat if it isn't burnt by exercise.
Weight loss occurs when there is less energy taken into your body than your body burns. So you need to exercise more and eat less processed foods. It isn't necessarily good to have no body fat though, cholesterol contains essential fatty acids your cells need to repair themselves. You need some cholesterol to have a healthy mind and body.
