there is not much pain involved but it is really uncomfortable . depending on the amount of swelling breathing is difficult and getting used to sleeping with your mouth open is no the easiest of things. Also after the surgery they put packing in your nose ( a sort of gauze) . i can tell you first hand the packing is the worst thing of the entire process.
follow the post surgery advice of rest and ice. Most people don't even use the pain medication. However be prepared to deal with the aftermath of what is elective surgery
If you go a registered professional in the field who has experience and the proper medical facilities then no its not dangerous. there is always an inherant risk in any surgery (reaction to anasthetic is an example) but for the most part they are safe. The problem occurs when people expect magical results and get disappointed or...arent completely happy with the results and end up getting more and more proceedures done which leads to collapse of tissues and deformity.
So I say if you truly believe it will make you happy. then by all means do it. just ensure that you do your research on the surgeon doing it, check and call references and ensure he OS she is part of a regulatory council. do the best you can to protect yourself. And information is the best way to start.
Speaking as someone who had the procedure done last week, I can say it's not that painful at all. Much less painful than having my wisdom tooth out. It is a little uncomfortable, as you'll usually have a splint on your nose for a week, and the stitches can sting a little from time to time, but with regular paracetamol/ibuprofen I haven't been in any pain at all. Just can't wait to get this damned splint off!
The procedure itself does not hurt because you're under anesthesia. However, you can have mild pain up to a week after due to the work that has been done on the nose (reshaping, breaking of the bridge, etc). I had my nose job 4 weeks ago and I didn't have any pain, just uncomfort from the stitches in my nose and the soreness. I did not need pain meds in other words. Hope that helps!
well according to my research yuo can get one of the person that are performing the surgery to give you a sleeping pill and you wont feel a thing they are doing.
A painful knot at the tip of the nose could be an insect bite or acne. Consult a physician if it does not go away.
