No. The active ingredient in Head & Shoulders shampoo is Zinc Pyrithione. This successfully kills fungus and bacteria and treats seborrheic dermatitis (dandruff) but not lice. Today, chemical treatments called pediculicides are used to treat lice including organochlorines, organophosphates, carbamates and pyrethrins. Some people confuse dandruff for lice eggs and therefore assume that Head & Shoulders shampoo treats lice when really it is just getting rid of dead skin flakes.
Do you mean without washing your hair with medicated lice shampoo? If so, yes you can, whenever my kids get head lice from school, I totally load their hair with conditioner, put a shopping bag on the head for at least an hour, usually an hour and a half, then rinse thoroughly. The trick to doing it that way, is that you MUST be very meticulous and take the time to search through the WHOLE head and remove any eggs and/or dead adults, the conditioner makes it much easier to comb through the hair, as well as to remove the eggs that are glued to the hair. You may have to repeat this process in a week to 10 days in case you miss any eggs, but its much easier and cheaper plus less harsh on the hair, rather than the expensive lice shampoo, which if you have thick hair, one bottle is barely enough for one treatment.
no it can just kill your dandruff...if you want to kill head lice get a bottle of alchol and pour it all over your hair then tie a plastic bag around your head and let it sit there for 2hrs then comb out your hair with a head lice comb for 1hour or untile you dont see anymore then wash your hair with head lice shampoo then wash with regular shampooand conditonar and repeat...it really work trust me I had 9 nieces that were infested and it works all the time it will take long but its worth it trust me=)
No, You will need to put lots of conditioner in your hair after shampooing and then comb through with a nit comb. Do this on a daily basis, for about a week. Good luck :)
Yes it is possible to kill head lice by dieing the hair.
Yes, depending on the quality of your shampoo!
Don't do that--it would work, but the insecticides in dog shampoo would be too strong for humans. There are head lice shampoos for people--RID is the most popular one--which work well.
Noo
What kind of dandruff shampoo do I need to use
That is for dandruff, lice is an actual bug in the hair and dandruff is dry skin. There is a shampoo called Nix I think for lice.
head and shoukders
No gel will not kill head lice the best thing to get is a head lice shampoo or cream
anti dandruf and lice shampoo :3
I believe that you have to use the special shampoo because it has the killing adgent in it. Regular shampoo will not touch the lice or their eggs!
you rub it on the scalp and let it sit for 10 min and then wash it off and apply the shampoo
No because head and shoulders treats dandruff which is a skin irritation and lice is a parasite, basically a small bug, so therefore it will not help anymore than regular shampoo.
not likely. If it did,it would advertise the fact.
No. Shampoo does not kill lice. Lice and their eggs (nits) need to be manually removed and you need to use some kind of insecticide to actually kill the lice and nits.Go tohttp://www.head-lice-treatment-information.comfor pictures and an understanding of the life cycle of head lice. They also can direct you to a safe non toxic head lice treatment that is actually a natural insecticide that is bad for lice but safe for humans.
Only if you have a real bad case of dandruff, itchy scalp, or lice.
You might have head lice ask your mom or dad to check your head if you have bugs on your head you have lice go to the super market or the nearest drug store and ask for head louse shampoo. Also check on google or any othersite for head lice or head louse pictures
