Snoring is usually caused by many different factors, quite often it has to do with tissue in the back of the throat or nostrils that somehow block air from entering the body.

If your brain can't get enough oxygen, the snoring can become intense. Both loss of sleep and lack of oxygen can contribute to the loss of brain cells.
