Ireland and much of the west coast of Europe is affected by what is known as the Gulf Stream. It is a current of warm water that comes from the eastern edge of the Gulf of Mexico and then travels up the east coast of America and across the Atlantic Ocean towards Europe. It helps keep that part of Europe a bit warmer than it otherwise might be. As to whether actual water that is on the coast of Mexico ever reaches Ireland, that would not really be the case.
Just go south by some 10 miles and you will reach Mexican waters.
Yes. Both Mexico and El Salvador have shores on the Pacific Ocean. Mexico has also coasts on the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea, so in order to reach El Salvador, any small-size boat has to pass through the Panama Canal.
The closest ports/marinas to reach Mexico City, would be either on Veracruz, some 398 Km (247 mi) east of Mexico City, along the Gulf of Mexico, or Acapulco, some 377 Km (234 mi) south of the Mexican capital, on the shores of the Pacific Ocean.
