Waffles in Belgium?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

A Belgian waffle is a type of waffle identified by its larger size, lighter batter and higher grid pattern which forms deep pockets and has larger squares. In Belgium, there are a number of different types of waffle, including the Brussels waffle, the Liège waffle and the stroopwafel; what is known in North America as a "Belgian waffle" is most similar to the Brussels waffle. As opposed to a traditional waffle, the Belgian waffle attributes its height to the use of yeast batter instead of a pancake batter. They are often eaten as a breakfast food. In North America, they are usually served with butter (or margarine) and maple syrup or with vanilla ice cream and fresh fruit (such as strawberries) as a dessert.

Yes they may, but not a huge one and don't put it in there diet It can be a treat as long as you don't put butter or syrup and if you have a dwarf hamster it can be a once in a blue moon thing because the batter contains sugar and dwarf hamsters love getting diabetes no I'm sorry they don't lol but it's not a laughing matter because it's bad for a dwarf hamster to get diabetes so please for dwarf hamsters a once in a blue moon thing for syrian hamsters a treat given maybe in 3-5 weeks or even a month but don't fee them this constantly or your hamster might get diabetes and get sick I hope this helps ;) - darkskygamerr

User Avatar

This is an interesting question. It all really depends. If you top your whole wheat waffles with just fresh fruit, with no syrup, or junk on top, then I suppose it would be a better choice. But to answer your question, if you topped your waffles with syrup, chocolate sauce, and rounded off your breakfast with plenty of other junky snacks, then yes, I'm sure you'd gain wait if you kept this behavior up.

Why are your waffles soggy?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Fried chicken isn't supposed to be soggy. It's supposed to be crispy. who ever made soggy fried chicken didn't let it cook all the way, or you have fried chicken mixed up with some other chicken. The main reason a batch of fried chicken is soggy is that the temperature of the frying oil/grease is not kept hot enough (about 350 deg. F or 177 deg. C), thus allowing the chicken to absorb more oil/gease than desired. Even though the oil/grease might intially be at the desired temperature but if the cook crowded the pan with too many chicken pieces, the frying temperature would be lowered, creating the soggy condition in the chicken.
